Sparta have sacked head coach Andrea Stramaccioni following a disappointing start to the second part of the season and overall bad results this season.

Andrea Stramaccioni will not continue as AC Sparta Prague head coach. It was decided by the executive sports management of the club and the board of directors. Stramaccioni has been revoked by the team with immediate effect.

At the level of the owner, the members of the board of directors and the sports director, the club decided to withdraw the coach in response to the serious situation in which the first team is located. Adam Kotalík, General director of the club: „Andrea Stramaccioni had tough task to start a process to make Sparta international looking side. His position was under review after the end of the first part of the season but unfortunately, results and playing style didn't improve even during the first three matches at the start of the second part of the season despite we made other transfers. The club decided to make a change and part We wish Andrea all the best in the next chapter.“

The first team had a free day on Monday, players will be training for the first time since the home match with Brno on Tuesday.

Technical manager Leonidas Vokolos, assistant coaches Roberto Muzzi and Omar Danesi, fitness coaches Federico Pannoncini and Stefano Campari and analyst Vincenzo Sasso will not continue in the club as well.

The negotiations about the new head coach continue. The board of the club would like to bring a new head coach to the club as soon as possible to be able to lead Tuesday’s training session.

The club would like to deny rumours that new head coach will be current sports director Zdeněk Ščasný who will remain a member of the sports department.
