Exciting match ahead! Sparta travelled to Krasnodar yesterday and trained at Kuban stadium for the first time ahead of the second leg of the Europa League round of 32.

Sparta have a 1-0 advantage from the first leg, but everyone expects the match to be much different from the one in Prague.

“We expect Krasnodar to play the same way as the last minutes in Prague. Quick passing plays and a lot of pressure. Their style of play is very different when they play at home,” said the headcoach Zdeněk Ščasný.

“They will want to prove their strength, as it’s much bigger on the home ground. It will be up to us to match it,” said Jakub Brabec.

Sparta would make their job much easier, if they scored a goal. Actually, they managed to score in every away match this season in the Champions League and Europa League and they did not lose any of the matches.

“We enjoy having the opportunity to play in the competition, these matches are so much different from the ones we play in the Czech top division. I hope we can continue in our run and advance,” Brabec said.

“The chances are still even. Of course, the result of the first leg is good, but I expect a very rough match for us on Thursday,” Ščasný said.

Sparta will be missing Josef Šural, Marek Štěch and also their captain David Lafata, who still has not recovered from his injury.

“We decided not to take him with us because of the long travel. A couple of hours in a plane, transfers and waiting in lines would not help him and we don’t want the injury to return,” Zdeněk Ščasný explained.
