Sparta youth squad will play against Newcastle United in the first match of the group stage of the Premier League International Cup.

The team led by coaches Miroslav Krieg and Erich Brabec travelled to Manchester and then by bus to Newcastle on Monday afternoon from Prague.

Tuesday’s match against Newcastle United U23s squad is the first match of the Premier League International Cup group stage. Sparta will face also PSV Eindhoven and Liverpool FC in November this year.

Members of the Sparta senior squad, goalkeeper Vojtěch Vorel and midfielder Christian Frýdek, were included in the squad list for the trip to Newcastle. Same as defender David Březina who are back on the pitch after long-term injury and he played several matches for the youth team in recent weeks.

The main squad contains players from the Sparta U19’s squad like Václav Drchal, Pavel Hezoučký, Christian Flak or Daniel Mareček who was a captain of the U19’s squad in the UEFA Youth League first round matches against FC Dudelange.

The match will be shown live, for free, on Newcastle United FC TV with a commentary by Magpies midfielder Isaac Hayden.
