Sparta were struggling offensively in the second round league fixture in Teplice and earn only a single point for a goalless draw.

Zdeněk Ščasný made a number of changes in the line-up, and goalkeeper Tomáš Koubek played his first competition match for Sparta. Ondřej Mazuch also returned to the line-up.

Sparta created the first chance of the match, but Lafata missed the goal from a good shooting position after a nice passing play by Dočkal and Čermák.

On the other side, Teplice had their first good opportunity after 25 minutes of play, as Fillo crossed the ball from the left and Potočný hit the crossbar.

Both Teplice players were involved in another chance for Teplice, when two home players were all alone in front of the goal, but Fillo tried a backpass to Potočný, instead of Hora, who was all alone in front of the net. Lukáš Vácha was inches short of opening the score a while later, but his long-range effort went just wide.

Ondřej Zahustel, who came on the pitch in the second half, then failed in Sparta’s biggest chance of the match, hitting only the post after a lovely cross by Costa. After a 0-0 draw, Sparta lost their first league points this season.
