Srdjan Plavsić had a perfect start to his life with Sparta Prague last summer when he was in the starting line-up almost immediately after his arrival from CZ Belgrade. He played against his former side in the Europa League Qualifying round but next months were tough for him same as for the club in overall.

Sparta was defeated by CZ Belgrade and eliminated from the Europa League after the first two matches. And, unfortunately for Srdjan, he had some injuries and didn't play as much as he would like.

“It's been six months since I moved to Sparta and I'm very happy to be here because all my teammates are great and they're great to me,“ said Srdjan in the interview with club TV during the training camp in Spain.

“I was happy I played at the beginning of the season but unfortunately, I was injured for a couple of weeks and I needed some therapy to get back to full fitness. I try to do my best every time I have a chance to play a match and it doesn't matter if it's for the senior squad or for the youth team.“

Srdjan travelled with the youth side for two matches of Premier League International Cup at the end of November after he was able to play again after injury. And his goal was the winning goal in the first match against Liverpool Under 23 squad.

“It was great to play these two matches as I gained some confidence and I'm sure it helped me for the last league match of the season against Mladá Boleslav in the same week. Paradoxically, I was sad the first part of the season ended after this match because we played well and I was finally back in the squad but I hope I will stay out of injuries during the winter preparation phase and I will be even better than at the end of the autumn part of the season.“

Srdjan began the winter pre-season perfectly as he was the best player in the friendly match against Táborsko. Sparta won 7-2 and Srdjan made a couple of assists. 'I really like to make goals for my teammates rather than to score by myself. Maybe it's not good but I'm used to playing like this. I love assists. We are still at the beginning of the pre-season, there will be other friendly matches and I hope I will get my chance to show what I know.“

The promising Serbian midfielder is a close friend of Eldar Ćivić who is able to speak Czech fluently and Eldar helps to Srdjan a lot. “He is great to me and he helps me a lot but I try to learn Czech words every day. The Czech language is hard but I try to learn and I will be better soon hopefully.“
