Sparta were unable to score the game-winning goal and only get a single point for a goalless draw with Zlín, even though the opposition played almost twenty minutes one man short.

David Lafata was not available due to injury, and so Václav Kadlec started as the lone striker again. Néstor and Vácha returned to the starting line-up, pushing Sáček and Konaté to the bench.

There was a lot to see in the first half and chances were coming on both sides of the pitch. Vukadinović, Holík and Jugas had chances for Zlín, but while the first two missed the goal, Tomáš Koubek made a stunning save on Jugas’s shot in the biggest chance of the Moravian side.

Josef Šural was the main man for Sparta, firing twice in the first half, but both his shots were saved by Zlín keeper Dostál.

Sparta’s pressure started to grow in the second half, but Dostál was in a good form. Zlín’s goalkeeper made two brilliant saves on Mazuch’s header and Vácha’s clever shot from outside of the box.

Fifteen minutes before the final whistle, Zlín’s Matejov was sent-off after seeing his second yellow card. However, Dostál denied Holek in Sparta’s biggest chance to keep the score goalless.
