That’s another big win this winter! Sparta crushed Sturm Graz 5-0 in their first friendly match after traveling to Valencia for the second winter training camp.

Sparta were the better side, even though it was the opposition to have the first big goal chance. Tomáš Koubek had to make a last minute clearance after a slight misunderstanding with Karavaev.

Anyway, goals started to come a bit later. First, Lukáš Juliš opened the score after a lovely feed by Dočkal.

Before the halftime break, Sparta doubled their lead. Well, it actually was Sturm Graz’s Koch, who tried to knock Karavaev’s cross from the right down for the keeper, but scored into his own net.

Sparta made a number of subsitutions in the second half, replacing most of the starting line-up, but the goals kept on coming.

Bořek Dočkal set Néstor free with a clever pass inside the box and the Spanish striker made it 3-0.

Only two minutes later, it was Čermák again, tackled down in the box this time. Bořek Dočkal made no mistake from the spot, converted the penalty kick and Sparta had a four-goal lead.

David Lafata then set the final scoreline, hitting the empty net after a nice feed by Karavaev.
